The Vineyard Life Rentals prides itself on ensuring that tenants have a smooth experience from booking, checking in until check out. Our goal is to ensure the house is everything you thought it would be and that our clients have a wonderful vacation on the island.

Your Property Search

You can search The Vineyard Life Rentals website to find rental homes that are ideally matched to your needs. If you prefer, you can contact us by phone at 508 627-0506 or email at info@thevineyardliferentals.com. We know and have been through each of our rental homes. Therefore, we can recommend properties that meet your criteria as well as assist with information and/or feedback that may be helpful in your overall selection process.

Travel Preparations

Martha’s Vineyard is an Island that requires planning. We suggest you make your ferry reservations as early as possible to avoid not being able to get your car across.

Advance car ferry reservations are mandatory when you are planning to visit the island during the peak summer months. It’s important to confirm travel arrangements prior to booking your stay. Advance car ferry reservations go on sale in mid-January for the following year. <click here to arrange transportation to Island>

What to Expect When Making Your Vacation Plans

The Lease Process

Once you’ve chosen a rental property, we’ll prepare the lease agreement and send it along for your review. Please read the lease carefully because it is a legal binding agreement. When you make a booking for a vacation rental property, you will enter into a Lease Agreement contract with the Landlord/Owner for the use of the property and any services, which the Landlord/Owner agrees to provide or arrange for you.

Payment Schedule

Once you receive the lease agreement, you can review, sign, and make payment arrangements for the initial deposit as outlined on the lease payment schedule. The balance of the rental fee, plus the cleaning fee and security deposit is due 60 days prior to your arrival.

We accept personal checks, ACH payments, and bank wire transfers. The security deposit will be returned to you no later than sixty (30) days after vacating the premises, less any deductions as outlined in the lease agreement, provided the property is left clean and there are no damages.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise which may cause a change in your vacation plans. If this happens, please notify us as soon as possible and we will work to find a replacement tenant to assume your responsibilities under the lease.

If we are successful in doing so, you will receive a refund, less the admin fee and 15% booking fee.



We’ll strive to provide you with personalized service to ensure an enjoyable and memorable stay!


Your Rental Agent will reach out to you a few weeks prior to your arrival to coordinate details for your arrival and stay. We will meet you at the house to give you the key and walk through the house with you. Our agents do this to make sure the house is in good order as well as to help of guests get familiar with the property.

If you are arriving late, we can make arrangements to get you the keys at your convenience.


On the morning of your departure, we ask that you leave the home in tidy condition, which includes removing all of the food from the cabinets and refrigerator, and the placing the trash in the receptacles provided.

Please check out by the time specified on your lease. We need tenants to be prompt because often the cleaners need to be in the house to prepare the property for the next tenant coming in that day. On weekends, cleaners usually have multiple properties to clean, so it is important to allow them to meet their schedule.

If you have made arrangements to meet your Vineyard Life Rental agents at the house when checking out, you can leave the keys with them. You can also drop the keys off at our office at 32 North Water Street, Edgartown (corner of North Water and Winter Street).
